Tell us about your business? We lived in Manhattan for 26 years before we sailed here and always loved hospitality and are bringing that personal service to Waipara Valley. We enjoy introducing our vineyard and bistro, explaining our certified organic wines, how our locally sourced menu is prepared and provide that personal wait service to every customer’s satisfaction. 

The bistro is solar powered, independent off the grid with battery back up. The honey is from our bees, olive oil from our trees, and we have an acre vegetable garden that a lot of our produce comes from. That was one of the goals when we arrived in New Zealand to make a sustainable vineyard and bistro that can meet the needs of the people. 

What’s your mission for every couple who chooses your business? To provide an experience that you can not get anywhere else, to make this day a magical memory that you will keep for your life. 

Bonus note about your business? Falaise & Lt. Commander Sydney John Hales R.N. settled and named Fiddler’s Green in 1981. Barry and Jennie Johns established the renowned wine vineyard a decade later winning multiple international awards. After a worldwide search at sea for two years, the Rath family sailed into New Zealand in 2016 to find and restore the property to an organic vineyard and bistro.
